The Aurora powerhouse at INL is Oklo’s first fast fission power plant. It anchors the initial deployment of Oklo’s advanced reactors and establishes a reference plant for future projects.

The facility is being developed on federal land in coordination with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program. Future commercial deployment is subject to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licensing.

Oklo is advancing fuel fabrication at INL’s Materials and Fuels Complex to produce fast-reactor fuel assemblies tailored to the Aurora-INL. Existing nuclear materials from the Experimental Breeder Reactor-II are repurposed and fabricated into new assemblies that meet specific operational requirements.

This work supports near-term deployment while building experience that informs future fuel production at scale.

The Idaho Radioisotopes Laboratory will create early isotope revenue and provide operational know-how to inform the larger INL buildout of the multi-reactor isotope foundry.

The Idaho Falls Test Facility positions Oklo to receive and inspect hardware, complete verification and qualification testing, accelerate scheduling, and increase cost efficiency for Idaho deployment work.
