• What is the Oklo + Meta project?

  Oklo and Meta are partnering to develop a 1.2 GW power campus in southern Ohio, to support Meta’s data centers in the region.

  The project will deliver clean, reliable power in its first phase and provides a mechanism for Meta to prepay for power and provide funding to advance project certainty for Oklo’s Aurora powerhouse deployment. Oklo will use the funds to secure nuclear fuel and advance Phase 1 of the project, supporting Meta’s digital infrastructure while adding new generation capacity to the regional grid.

  Oklo will create around 50 permanent, good-paying jobs for every Aurora powerhouse, including technical engineering positions and administration, warehouse, and routine maintenance (over a 16-unit site). For every eight units, a further ~40-50 jobs will be added.

  This is one of the most significant private clean energy investments in the region and a cornerstone of how Oklo is helping meet the growing energy demand from advanced digital infrastructure.

• How is the project structured?

  Deployment will follow a multi-phase approach.

  Pre-construction and site characterization will begin in 2027, with general construction to begin late 2028/early 2029 and the first phase targeted to come online as early as 2030.

  Development of the scalable powerhouse campus is expected to incrementally deliver up to the full target of 1.2 GW by 2034.

• When does construction begin, and when will power come online?

• How big is the investment?

  This has the potential to become a multi-billion-dollar investment as Oklo constructs and operates the full scale of units contemplated in this agreement.

• How will this project affect local power bills?

  Oklo’s power generation facilities and associated infrastructure are financed through a combination of private investment and commercial arrangements, including customer commitments, and do not rely on local utility rate increases. Any applicable incentives or credits are part of broader state and federal programs. The project adds new power to the grid rather than drawing from it, helping ease electricity price pressure and strengthening local reliability.

• How does Oklo's model benefit those involved?

• Why not solar or wind?

  All power generation technologies have their strengths. Unlike renewables, the Aurora powerhouse has a small footprint, is always on, and is constructed in a way that prioritizes revitalizing existing sites. Our designs are quick to deploy and can run on recycled fuel, helping reduce nuclear waste volumes across the United States.

• Are you colocating with Meta?

  The agreement between Oklo and Meta is structured such that Oklo’s powerhouses will sell power to the grid on the PJM market. Meta will pay Oklo for this power and draw directly from the grid for its data centers.

• Is Oklo seeking a license to operate commercially from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)?

  Oklo will pursue an NRC commercial license for the Aurora powerhouse deployments planned for southern Ohio.

  Oklo is committed to maintaining the highest levels of safety and transparency and will work with regulators at every appropriate stage as part of bringing new clean energy to southern Ohio.

• Is the fuel coming from Centrus?

  Oklo and Centrus have signed a Letter of Intent under which Centrus agrees to supply enough domestic high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) to power up to five Aurora powerhouses for multiple years, with deliveries to Oklo scheduled to begin in 2029.
